About Me
Carmen Beecher

I have been making art all my life. I worked for the Air Force for 31 years, and in that time held a variety of jobs, the best of which was Illustrator and Manager of the Graphics Shop at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. As a freelance artist I have done comic strips (three), murals, magazine covers, illustrations, and commissioned paintings.

I won Best of Show in the National League of American Pen Women Biennial Juried Art Competition for my painting, The Train to Rome is Late. The painting also was First Place in the Art & Antique Miniature Show in Melbourne, Florida. My painting, River of Tears was selected for the 2008 Juried Art Exhibition, calendar, and the book, Addiction and Art by the office of Innovators Combating Substance Abuse. This is a national program supported by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to provide a stimulus, by means of the visual arts, to change America’s perceptions of addiction and put a human face on addiction and recovery.

This year I joined the Daily Painting Movement, posting small paintings on www.DailyPaintworks.com and www.DailyPainterOriginals.com. This is a challenge, and a great discipline!
